Right!  I am starting assembly.  I will make this statement, just cuz I feel like it.  There are going to be a lot of Subjective comments I make about this unit.  For the regulars on this site, I do not believe that will be an issue, as I believe I have earned your trust and I hope you feel i have integrity.

For those of you that are just looking in and have no idea who I am or what this site is about I say this...There is no advertising on this site, it is funded by the owners AND the Members.  We are beholding to no one!  So keep that in mind when you think I sound like a Fan Boy!  It is the Voice of 22 years of Competing and Backyard Cooking on 100% Pellet units!

Thanks Bently. I have that griddle but have only used the smooth side for smashburgers. I will have to try grilling on it.!

I see Big Mac Attack. Are you doing the double deck or just a top and bottom with a single burger?  Can't wait to see this.

We are going for the double decker. There will be four 20" pizzas to be used as buns for two hamburger patties that will be 10 pounds each. One sandwich will be placed on top of the other for the Big Mac effect.

Sunday is the day of the Big Mac attack.

Phase 1: Cheese slices!
The American cheese came in two pound bricks, so I thought I would start with that. Melted it down in a double boiler, poured it out on parchment paper, and spread it out to size. It was a little thin. For the next slice I will use 3 lb of cheese.

Tomorrow I will finish the cheese slices and go into Phase 2.

I am a bit concerned that this Performance Test is going to cost me a few thousand dollars.  Much like it did on the other site :rotf:

:)  Yes.  Those tests are still influencing my buying decisions.  They have a long half-life.

I'm glad it is the larger one.  I am interested in seeing the capacity.  I am a bit concerned that this Performance Test is going to cost me a few thousand dollars.  Much like it did on the other site :rotf:

The last failure bothered me, so I thought I would give it a go with a few revisions!  I will have to save a little of the filling or make more to kind of doctor up the split for the one I plan to take to the meeting next Monday!  This out come was more what I had in mind when I made the 1st one! Might try and get gusty and dig out top section and pipe it too.  Was hoping for that circular look.   I am just paranoid that there is no way I get them back together again without the top breaking!
