  • Well, after posting that I did not see any Manufacture participation on this site happening soon just 10 minutes ago...maybe I should write them and just ask if they would look in every couple of weeks?

  • I sent Tim and email, not sure if will respond, but if he does and is able to give any info on the Wifi I will share it with you!

  • Thank you. That's what will make this site succeed. It's all about a site we can go to for information.

  • Tim from Blaz'n said I could post this for you!

We are doing kind of a soft introduction to our WiFI Module.
So far, everything has been working great.
    -The cost is $199.00.
-Anyone using our Pro Series Control can buy the WiFI Kit.
-It's cloud based, so, as long as you have access to WiFi, you can monitor your grill.  You can also change the temperature settings on both the grill and meat probe.

Sounds similar to the MAK wifi interface but $100 less expensive.

  • Seems... well I guess I had expected a bit better price. Not sure I'd even consider it for $199...  I was thinking $89 would be closer to what I'd have expected.

  • I am under the impression it is a whole new controller for the pit, not an add on, not sure you can make it, much less make any profit for it under $100.

Ah, for some reason I was thinking it was a add on, that got attached  to the existing controller via some USB port or something that's been hidden from view..

  • You know, it might be, I guess I did not get enough detail when I spoke with Tim.  An email may be in order!

  • The MAK version is a chip that gets plugged into the Controller board with a cable that attaches to a wifi antenna that screens into the chassis of the pit below the controller.  I don't know anything about the BGW wifi, but figured I would share how it is setup on a competitive brand.

  • I added the Blazn Wifi controller to my Gridiron a couple of weeks ago, I love it. The ap is kind of cheesy with a slide control to adjust the temp, it is kind of touchy to get the exact temp. It comes as a plug in to the existing controller and an externally mounted antenna. Other than drilling a hole for the antenna it is just a matter of installing the software to get your wifi connected to Roanoake Cloud.  I can now control my grill wherever I have wifi or have access to the internet over phone connection.
