It is time consuming, but worth it for a special occasion.

Thanks for posting, want to give this a try.

  • Question along the same line.
How do you delete a photo?
Let's say you upload the wrong photo and post.
How can you go in and edit/remove an attachment/photo?
    Thx,
    Dan
(I am on my iPad so perhaps I am missing something obvious?)

  • I am hoping you can now go in to your post, look at the attachments, uncheck it and then save and viola, no more attachment!

Edit: Doh...iPhone...no idea, although I would think it is the same...

  • I have been able to do that on my iPhone.  You can uncheck.  Look farther down.

I had the issue of them coming in sideways.  Had to go to my picture in my camera roll then rotate it, save it, go back in a rotate it back to normal - then it would come in properly.

  • I am doing something wrong and I am going nuts. I'm missing a simple step in the picture posting process and am at a loss. The problem is getting to the extended long link for the picture. I have the pictures saved in Google Photos, but I cannot figure out how where to go from there. I have read a lot of the tips and "how to" suggestions, but they seem to take it for granted that you are at the proper address. I did post one picture a little while ago. It seems to have be dumb luck because I cannot for the life of me do it a second time. PLEASE HELP!!!

  • Go back & read the very first post on this thread. You no longer have to cut & paste an IMG file. You are posting the picture directly from wherever it is located.

Step 1: click on "Attachments and other options" directly below (shows up below when you start a post).
Step 2: click the "Chose File" button then browse your computer, laptop, photos on your phone.
Step 3: Select the photo to post.
Step 4:  Click on "Insert Attachment 1" just to the right of the "Choose File" button
The photo will appear where ever you last left your cursor.

  • I was also wondering about videos, do you have to use a site like you tube or is there a way to post videos right from your iPad,iPhone, computer etc...

Sounds good Bentley, was wondering what I had to do for videos. I will ask my son to set me up a YouTube account ( I'm not smart when it comes to that stuff)

Per my post I was asking about what could be used to post videos, even short vids exceed max attachment size limits.

Sorry, I should have specified my reply was for jd.

I use Google Picasa to manage my photos (over 50,00 right now) because it is so easy to upload to your Google account. Also, If you keep your photo size to "Best for web sharing" in Picasa, then it does not impact your Google Drive account - essentially unlimited photos. However, Google does not promote Picasa any longer.

Google does not make it easy to post your pics in the forum, but I use it all the time. Here's the somewhat roundabout way of doing it, but definitely worthwhile if you already have your photos in Google.

    • Log into photos.google.com (important not to use Google Plus)
    • Go to your album, then click on a picture you want to post - make sure your photo or album is public or no one but you will be able to see it.
    • Here's the important part - right click the image and open it in a new tab
    • Go to that new tab and copy the URL in the address bar
    • Return to this site and click the IMG button in the tool bar
    • Paste the URL into the URL tag and set the width parameter if you like. Setting the width parameter allows you to display a smaller thumbnail that when clicked, will zoom to full size - see the examples below

This is the IMG tag that appears when you click the first button on the second row
    Code: [Select]
    [img][/img]
    Code: [Select]
[img]PASTE YOUR GOOGLE URL HERE (it will be very long)[/img]
Optionally set the width parameter like in this example
    Code: [Select]
[img width=400]PASTE YOUR GOOGLE URL HERE[/img]
Here is an example of one of my Google photos as I would use it in a post (see how long it is?):
    Code: [Select]
    [img width=400]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/PiQhv8VSC3xdagE_tTEa9N4agszV-VdVyxmb_pYcMkXA36yh0-ZpOublMp17kVl7bps90xUKQvxpZlYClxqSjC61fPha2ZVs9bmq79iu6uWogVZpIaYbZjz0marc18FTNzFAkzoNbx72j2qNenxNnen1hxG5u2AVYJ-yvgFmkL_Byf4DX0yT5zcJzgE3TEuNoKbMgY--6ynvfKw84-2uTJVawtNaOoAABwXYL9L5YeJWx6wfHtm8dohtIosDppGA11WmKdPkOfhzfZYOcBpR6aNou2mYbP9PpSkuYrNtvSXA0gajFVMoBppK2ONT3481AY0yO_7jUJyJlamWUavpfMpx3kLnk0uuFyKdN_-GPBfdlr8O02XlGVgwXB6ogMv4EGdrVXdU2XaXExny34IHZEfRuN4zU6-1Ww-cRhhktbEsCMsXYYDson6lnztTbEg8xuvzvoup-JWF0iRALtDs5g1R-M8SzCbq0aHIUVhF6no10NOXCQ5SusIU7jN0ijN8b3X2JBZJdcKQE8Y-vkxqYHr8TwR3g60bG0PSWZhPnpxbihxGql2XPULpZaGeDfP6UGyxuA7LBw2Y8v6oUCv-_jpZcXuRRmiwBobWJKBrGw=w1764-h1176-no[/img]
... and it comes out looking like this in the forum
