  • Many here know where my allegiance lies. Many are probably fed up with it as well.   >:(

I present to you, arguably the most spectacular football stadium setting in all of the country (NCAA or NFL).
And yes, those boaters are there for the game. The Husky Crew team shuttles the boaters to and from the game with the teams launches.
    How cool is that?

Go ahead and admit it. Let yer inner dawg loose.

That's a cool stadium.  I hated the Nebraska stadium experience so that now I don't have season tickets.  They play awful music waaaay too loud (and we were right under a speaker), there were too many jerks around us, the seats were bleacher-type benches so if we stood we may not have had a place to sit back down, the rows were so crowded that people had to sit with their shoulders interleaved.

    Then there was the traffic.

Then there was the escalating cost.

It's much better to sit at home and watch it on a large TV and enjoy the replays and expert commentary.

That's probably true of any stadium over 50,000 anymore.

That's too bad, it should be a good experience.

  • This is one of the benefits (among a lot of drawbacks) to having a custom built home.  You design what you want.  I ensured that I had three separate outlets on the wall and the electrician knew what my plans were for what I wanted on that wall so he ran them to the appropriate amount of breakers.  I also built the basement room so that it had that wall to put the TV's on.  I am very fortunate that my Dad and younger brother are very handy and mechanically inclined.  I bought good but inexpensive wall mounts from Monoprice.  My brother and Dad had those three TV's hung using a laser level and my pool table assembled (behind the couch where I watch those TV's) in 3 hours.  I had 2 of the 3 TVs already before I moved.  Unfortunately, I underestimated how much room I had for TV's on brackets.  I will be upgrading at some point and swapping out the one on the left, and at some point disposing of the DLP TV that sits on the floor for something bigger.  I also need to look into how to knock some holes in the walls to hide the cables.  I didn't think through that good enough when the home was built as I should have had that done with the original construction.

It sure is fun for college football on Saturdays, the NCAA basketball tourney, and the months of Oct/Nov when there is football, baseball playoffs, NHL games, NBA games, etc going on at the same time.  I love October (but I am a bit biased as I was born in October and married in October). ;D

  • Haha...I bought that stuff, but we have yet to implement.  That may be the best solution.
