Is there a way to add sound to my alarm on the app? I like to set the alarm for the probe temp when the meat is done and all I get is a slight buzz. I mean I have to be holding my phone in my hand to know. I have looked in the settings of the app and my phone too. I hope I am just missing something simple. IPhone X with most up to date software and the newest app from Rec Tec.

you might be.  Honestly, I tried to mess with the app and it was not great.  I basically only use it for moving temps up and down.  I might gaze at it to review the probe temps, but I haven't been that thrilled with the probes/controller on mine.  So, I bought a maverick and rely on that. 

I used the timer and it made sound.  But, have not set an alarm for the meat probes.  Sorry I can't help. 

I use the alarms on every cook (android).  I typically set the pit alarm for a 10° swing to keep tabs on any issues while not watching it.  Also probes if using them.  I get a sharp tone and a yellow text flash on any alarms.  It has worked from day one.


I would say to make sure the Rec Tec app is not set to "blocked" in the application notifications settings.  I have my notification ringtone set to "Beep Once" with the notification volume set to max.

You need the phone screen to be on for the alarms to work. They are working on a fix to make it work while the phone is locked.
