A good de-greaser and Bar Keepers Friend..  Add Elbow Grease - large quantities.

Thanks Travlin. Has anyone tried this: https://www.amazon.com/Members-Mark-Grill-Fryer-Cleaner/dp/B0024COLK2

Yes, I haven't tried it on my PG500 (it needs it) but I used it on a stainless steel stick burner.  It worked great with very little rubbing.  But, those stains were lighter than those that ran out at the base of my PG's doors.

I'll probably try it on the PG when the winter weather breaks.

Thanks, gang and pmillen. I am going to try it. I may actually get a cover just to hide the mess. The door is a problem.

Barkeepers Friend powder works great on stainless - cleaned up pretty good stains on the Memphis. The Traeger all natural cleaner is pretty good too. The barkeepers friend liquid was nothing in comparison to the powder with a wet sponge, especially the blue scotch brites.

I'm not a Sam's Club member either (Costco gets enough of my wallet), but people thinking about using this might want to go to the Sam's Club link and then down to the View Safety Data Sheet - especially if you have little ones around.

Maybe I'm just a worry wart...........

My understanding is that you definitely want to be wearing gloves when you use this.

Most definitely.

In looking at both the Bar Keeper's and Member's Mark Safety Data Sheets:
Barkeeper's Friend says "Causes mild skin irritation and serious eye irritation".
Member's Mark says "Causes severe skin burns and eye damage".

Moving from irritation up to severe damage is a big step.

This is the same warning as many oven cleaners. I'm sure its like this for gas, bleach, and other products we have in our homes.

Pretty sure that is true, but with three grandkids 5 and under here the majority of the time, I'll go for the Bar Keeper's and extra elbow grease.

And I've had gasoline and bleach spilled on my skin more that a few times without any serious damage.

Maybe the Maker's Mark SDS is too conservative, but I'll avoid it.
