Title: Woodwind Pro 24
Post by: Brushpopper on September 14, 2023, 10:57:13 AM
I went ahead and pulled the trigger yesterday on a Woodwind Pro 24 along with the sidekick sear and the griddle.  The griddle is only 14" by 16" but I think it will be fine for the three of us.  I'm not sure when it'll be here but hopefully next week.  I'll post as many pictures as I can remember to take and give y'all my thoughts on it as I learn it.

Congrats.  Looking forward to getting your feedback on it.

The Pro has shipped via FedEx and it should be delivered on Sunday according to the tracking.  I didn't know they did Sunday deliveries.  I'm hoping it will be on a pallet and not several boxes.

Nice choice, it probably won't be as stout a build as the P&S was but should work well and last a good while.

I sure will miss the P&S.  It was a really fantastic cooker but I think the Pro is more versatile.  The main body of the P&S survived the fire but the wheels are gone and the hopper is trashed.  I might turn it into a stick burner at some point.  Weld a fire box on the hopper end and put a different smoke stack on it so I can dampen it.  I got to get a new shop and all the equipment to so such again first though.

Smoke Daddy sells replacement hoppers and things like that.  Might be able to piece it back together as a pellet smoker too.  Just sayin...

I thought about that too.  I'm still dealing with insurance so I'll see what the options are after I get the building torn down.  The problem is my tractor was damaged too and is at the dealer seeing what it will cost to repair.  I need the front loader to move the P&S since it can't roll and weighs a ton but maybe I can get the guy from Serve Pro to set it somewhere for me.

Now the FedEx tracking says it will be delivered tomorrow because it's "delayed" in Houston.  I have no idea why it went from Utah to Abilene then to Houston instead of San Antonio.  Now I'm hoping "delayed" doesn't mean "damaged".

Everything arrived yesterday afternoon.  There are dings and small holes in some of the boxes be nothing looks like major damage.  It might be a few days before I can get to putting it together.  We had an emergency with someone in my wife's family last night so that will take priority.  I'll let y'all know how the assembly goes in a few days.
