  • I took the plunge and purchased the Memphis Pro ITC3. It's scheduled to be dropped off today. Anyone have experience with one? Just joined this forum and excited to peruse all of the old posts.

  • Looked it up, man had the Memphis Pro change since I bought mine almost 12 years ago!  Look like a Great pit, hope you enjoy it!  My unit has been very reliable over that time frame!  Are you from the Valley?

  • The carrier says it's out for delivery, so it should be here soon. I'll post photos of the unboxing. My new toy :). I'm eager to see how the upgrades (variable speed blower and augers, "IntelliBurn" etc.) work out. This is billed as the most advanced pellet smoker/grill available and there's next to nothing about it online ... no reviews, nothing.

  • I will be curious to get your thoughts on this grill and hope you enjoy it.

Just to think that I paid $3300 including shipping in 2012 for the Elite with cover, geni tool, 120# of pellets, and the 3 extra racks.  A new Elite will be 2x that with taxes and shipping and it is not even made in the USA.

  • It sure is expensive. And they have to be saving big $$ using Chinese labor. I'll post a full report on the quality. If this works as advertised I'm gonna be happy. I've owned three different Traegers and currently have a Beale Street that will be sold once the Pro is up and running. I clearly have a pellet grill "problem" LOL.

FWIW the Chinese-built Beale Street is very well constructed and I didn't notice any defects.

  •  With all the changes, I am curious as too how it will work out..  There should be an initial evaluation followed by subsequents.. Enjoy that new pit!

  • It sure looks nice.  I am interested in hearing about the auto cleaning program feature.  That seems like it sure would be nice.  That is my biggest issues of cooking on the Elite and my other pellet grills.

  • Looks like they took the phone app and added to it for the Controller.
I think it is discriminatory that they put the controller on the right for right-handed people.  ;D

I found this on the Memphis site that I find interesting about the WIFI:
"*This new version provides monitor and timer but does not provide alerts or control via Wi-Fi."

Guess it's only for updates and sending diagnostics to Memphis.   ???

Gets them out of burn pot, but they have to go someplace.
Besides the burn pot, I vacuum the ash off the sides and hood when I clean.

  • So here's the story on the wifi with the new ITC3 models: apparently Memphis, GMG and others were sued by Traeger for patent infringement for offering a wifi-controlled grill. When this gets sorted out I expect full control of the grill via wifi to be enabled. FWIW I'm not an attorney but it sure seems that the industry would have an earthquake if Traeger is successful in court.

  • Pretty soon it will just be Traeger and Weber in the marketplace because they are the only ones that have money to keep suing everyone.

  • I guess since Al Gore invented the Internet, only seems logical that Traeger would have invented Wi-FI.

  • I'm unclear whether Memphis was sued by Traeger or if they only received a cease and desist. Here's GMG's response to Traeger; it's long but a good read. https://greenmountaingrills.com/gmgresponse/

I know what my response would have been to Traeger but I can't say it here. ;D

  • My WIFI on the Memphis hasn't worked in quite a while.
Don't really miss it, as I found it annoying the "I" had to log in to use "MY" grill.

I wonder if Traeger winning the suit would help or hinder their sales.
I'm sure it would pi$$ off a lot of people if the ones using WIFI had it shut off suddenly.
