Nice!    I also like the built it PG1000.    I’ve considered doing something like that to mine.

Thanks, what I found so far is the thin grates do not hold heat. On the indirect side once preheated the grates hold 400 degrees and actuallycook the food from the bottom as well.  So far a like them.  Doesn’t do grill marks, but I can use my primo for that.

The larger 2nd shelf seems to make the most sense.

I agree.  Went from 9” deep to 11.  Could have done up to  12.5”
