I have Frog Mats & Q-Matz, they are both great. The Frog Mats have bigger spacing. I use mine for smoking things that might not sit well on the grates like ABT's. What does everybody else use theirs for, anybody have any good uses & tricks. Mine have been scrubbed so many times they don't seem to be so non stick anymore, they are getting harder to clean.

I use mine for jerky
They are a real pain to clean - that we can probably all agree on!
-
I lightly spray mine with canola oil before I put any food on them. It makes it fairly easy clean that way.

Thanks for the tip, I never thought of that.

I use GMG's version of them. They clean okay with a plastic bristle brush. I use for delicate stuff, but I also you them as a way to easily rotate and move the food around. Ribs and spatchcocked chicken are my most recent thing. It keeps me from having to lift a heavy moist hunk of meat with tongs and spatulas and have it falling apart.

I just throw them in the dish washer and they come out clean as a whistle.

+ 1 on the dishwasher.
But only after I switched to Cascade Platinum pods. Those things are great. All dishes come out so much cleaner than any other dish washing detergent that I tried.

I just blast my frogmat with the garden hose

I have bought some from several places. I just bought some on ebay that are 12x15 and were $3 each with shipping from China. Be curious to see how these work out. A buddy of mine received his this week and said they looked just like one's that I had in my MAK smoking cabinet.

Wow that's a bargain.

Wow that's a bargain.
If I don't die after using them, I will let you know. I thought it was too good a deal not to try.
-
At that price they are almost disposable.

Before you try them, could you update your will and leave your Memphis Elite to me? :pig:

My wife wouldn't know what to do with it so it would need a good home

You should probably double check to be sure those things are coated in teflon, and not lead. :)

I use mine for just about everything. Makes the meat easy to transfer to a sheet pan when done. To clean I soak in the sink, hot soapy water and their come clean pretty easy.
-
I also find them handy for sliding onto a cookie sheet to sauce food and sliding back on when sauced so you do not lose all of your heat in the winter.
-
That's another reason I use them. With a rimless cookie sheet, it makes in and out of the cooker a breeze.

The frogmats I bought on ebay from China were delivered while I was on my business trip. They seem to look and feel like other frog mat type products that I bought for much more.
-
They may come from the same factory as the name brand ones. ;)
