Title: Blackstone Pro Series
Post by: GatorDave on February 27, 2019, 05:03:25 AM
Has anyone checked out the new Blackstone Pro Series griddles at Walmart.  They look to be really nice.  I'm glad I held out on the griddle till now.  With these coming out, I may wait just a bit longer and see Camp Chef's response before finally pulling the trigger on a griddle.

I have a Camp Chef sitting in my garage for about 15 months that I have not put together yet.  Got a great Black Friday deal in 2017.

Certainly a nice looking unit.  May try to sell mine and buy that.

Well, just noticed it is $500.  Will wait until they do a closeout at end of the season and could probably get for $100.

I'm having trouble deciding between that one and the one with double burners and deep fryer.  I like the double burner one because it has a hinged lid over the griddle, but it's a bit smaller.  The Pro is bigger, but the lid isn't hinged.

I don't think I would let any of them outside after a cook with the chance of rust getting on the griddle.  I think keeping it in the garage in a humid environment may lead to rust at some point too.

I believe the griddle itself is still steel and not SS. I think before I dropped 500 on pro series I would be watching the restaurant auction places for a commercial unit or add a few bucks and get one from the company that makes the cajun fryer.

Yes, the 36” comes in two frame types.  One painted black and the other stainless.

Is the griddle stainless?

I saw this in a box at Walmart today when you walk in the door.  They also had another one that had a griddle and a deep fryer by Blackstone.

Yeah, I saw the version with the hinged lid and dual burner/deep fryer at my Walmart for ~$400 this week.    They look really nice and for a couple of minutes I was a little remorseful that I just bought the older style but at half the price I’m OK with it.
