Title: Dirty “Chin”

As many of you know the area just below the front of the grill can get incredibly dirty with baked on “gunk.”  We always called this area “The Chin.”  Was doing my thorough once a year cleaning and decided I would try a little Easy-Off oven cleaner on it. Nothing else seemed to touch it.
Wished I had a “before” picture but here is the “after.”  The Easy Off worked very quickly. I cleaned it up with a wet rag with multiple wipes.

I still have some drips of some kind on my door. It is not the Easy Off, but I think some baked on grease or something. Will try stainless steel cleaner on that. My grill is 430 stainless. Will give it some time to see if the oven cleaner has any ill effects.

 Interesting! Thanks.. I have had great success using 100% Simple Green..Spray on, wipe off. However I don't wait for the gooey mess to bake on.

 For my Memphis Pro, I made a deflector 1" x 27 3/4" angled @ 45º that sits at the front of the hopper lid to guide the grease laden smoke up and away. Really helps w/ keeping the hopper lid clean...

Did not take long to get more baked on drips from the rib eye cook yesterday.

Used CJ’s method of using Simple Green and my Scotch Bright pad.
Cleaned up fairly easily.

Powder barkeeper’s friend with a blue scotch brite pad works well too. Didn’t have near as much luck with the liquid/paste stuff.
