We are hitting the Asian markets for whole fish again. You are really missing out if you are in a part of the country that does not have Asian markets.
We smoked a whole monk fish a couple of days ago and a whole tilapia tonight. The whole fish are so much juicier than store bought fillets, probably because of the fat in the skin. You can see the flavorful fat on the fish. It turns out that one tilapia was about right to feed two. Other than catching fish fresh, whole fish at Asian markets is unbeatable for both price and flavor. We also did a fresh lobster this week. I am not a lobster fan but my wife really ate it up.
