OK - the issue is "fixed" but ideally we would be able to post photos in line and not have them show up @ the bottom. I will continue to look into this.

Silas. Take note that he is sitting on a jerky making book. You need to get that cat on the internet... probably give old Grumpy Cat a run for their money.

pmillen, was there a picture in this thread you wanted enlarged?:) Not in this thread. In the thread where we explain our avatar choices, Lothar1974 said that he's using a photograph of his Vizsla. I rather like Vizslas (and almost all bird dogs) so I asked him to post a larger photograph here.
I just remembered that there was a Vizsla listed here. I went back and looked. Sure enough it was Lothar1974's.
Duh!
I loved hunting with my lab, will be fun to have a pointer this time.

Shetland Sheepdog? Dakota is gorgeous. Is there any hair in the house?
I saw that picture of Hank and thought, how does that dog get around with that big cast on his leg...the mind will play strange tricks on us...that is why most eye witness are useless!
I had a Blue Queensland heeler for a very short period of time in the 90's. He looked a lot like this guy...by far the smartest dog I have ever been around.

This is Freeze.
Thank you. He is a very cool cat and unlike others I have had over the years. He hangs like a dog would. You can go outside and will will follow like a dog and you can call him like a dog as well. He is afraid of nothing which is good and bad. All the neighbors know him and his story on how we found him and why he is outside. They all also leave food for him and two of the houses also put out a place for him to sleep in as well. ;DThis is Freeze.
I think those cats that look like Ocelots are so cool.
They are Samoyeds. They were show dogs/Breeders and I got them when they retiredThose are beautiful Samoyeds. I had a retired show dog Jazz that was an Australian Shepard. A hairy monster that we had for 10 plus years and she was 5 when we got here from a breeder my wife's sister knew. Excellent dog overall.
Yep he is a real fattie, When we found him years ago he was starved and in very poor health. Now all he does is eat and has been that way since day one. Have tried to get him on proper foods but he won't have anything to do with that. He also likes Pizza, not the crust, just the sauce and cheese. So I figure if he wants to eat then fine with me, our others are well mannered and eat normal. LOL!! Him, well you see it. mister FATMAX, I wish I could find the pict of him from behind sitting on the floor. His butt almost covers the width of a 12" tile LOL.This is FatMax, all 27lbs of him. He loves Brisket and Spare Ribs. :)

Dakota is a mini Australian Shepard

My wife taught her to sneeze on command :) Crazy stuff
Oh and there is hair EVERYWHERE no matter what you do!!!

Thanks. She will take a treat from my hand as long as she can kind of snatch it and run. Never thought to sit on the ground and be at her level. I am also afraid she is blind in her left eye. It had a good size cyst on it when she came that has disappeared, but the eye does not look right to me.
Paul, just like feeding a horse. With a horse it is protecting ones fingers.
Bug is a cutie.

Their tails. They wag it and sweep everything right off of the coffee table. :)

Miniature Mastiffs...
From the 'dog' person in me.. Properly prepared :bbq: - they taste just like 'chicken' :rotf:
(but if that happened - my wife would have me 'prepared' - just like chicken.. :puke:)
Thanks Paul...and yes the dogs are pretty proud of their good work. I’ve got a 10month old pup I’m doing the basic handling drills with now. If you’ve got a SH title you only have to pass 5 master series to get your MH title but, I don’t care what kind of dog you have, you love them to death and a good dog is a good dog! Happy Easter everybody
Pretzel logic [ Invalid Attachment ]That reminds me, and looks like my first dog, "BONNIE" (male). Endless energy - would run for miles. Super nose; could smell a tennis ball 15 + feet away..One ear up, the other down..Loved to chase cats and skunks... Hated the mailman as he would like to lie against the front door that had a mail slot in it. The mail would rain down on him resulting in several sounds of complaint... He lived into his 19th year... Your Sophie is a lucky one; found a caring home!
This is Sophie. A five month old mix adopted two months ago from the humane society in Johnson City, TN. She is part collie, border collie, we think, as she is starting to exhibit herding tendencies. The vet thinks there is some Sheltie, also. And to confuse everyone she has a dewclaw on each hind leg.
Our oldest Weimaraner is in hospice care. Of course it's heartbreaking.Yeah but it won't shed and it don't look like it would be any fun to "buddy" up with either.
I'm thinking that this (https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=the+new+spotmini&&view=detail&mid=AC1B4B0430D0AEDA16AFAC1B4B0430D0AEDA16AF&&FORM=VRDGAR) will be my next "breed."
I'll just mount a camera and gun on it and wait in the diner.
Kalen is a handsome guy.
Darling puppy. Beautiful parents.Yep, I am not shy about looking for gum color, clear eyes and a good ole ear sniff. No canker on her.
Smell Britta's ears when she's a very young puppy. If they ever smell any different it'll probably be because something is brewing up in there.
Is the vest for flotation, or just being cool?Where we hunt it gets cold. That day was in the 20s. The best is neoprene. It helps keep him warm.
Great picture and bet he/she just loves to retrieve. He lives for it. I wish I had a job I loved like he loves his.

Ain't that the truth!
That's a photo worthy of framing.
I worked with people who scolded me for training bird dogs and making them hunt. They didn't like shooting sports and never saw a gun dog work. I would tell them that every one of my dogs, going back to my youth, hunting with my father, would rather hunt than eat.
Man that’s just neat, fantastic looking dog and it’s awfully easy to see that it is something he loves. He lives for it. I wish I had a job I loved like he loves his.

Just got back from visiting the Grandog's in Black Forest Colorado. Our neighbor a few doors down has one, super neat dogs.
They are three Gentle Giants, (New Foundlanders) which my Daughter and Husband resqued.
The little fellow is our Yorky who traveled with us and took over King Haveys Bed.
Harvey is the Black and white, Zola is the smaller Black one and Issy is the larger black one.

Maybe a Caucasian Shepard? I can't afford a dog that can almost eat as much as me, but man these are big, beautiful looking animals! That truly is one of the neatest dogs I have ever seen. Where the heck did you ever see one of those?
Ovcharka (https://youtu.be/EMgFoNuheWE)
If they are outlawed then he is breaking the law and I don’t know either way but he doesn’t necessarily hide them, I have seen them numerous times riding in the bed of his truck and one time he had 2 of them at a car show? Just walking around.A very good friend of mine hunts big exotic game (not anything I like) but he has been on several continents doing it. Anyway his friend has dogs Argentina dogs. They are the scariest dog I have ever come face to face with and the 2 of them use them to pig hunt.
Dogo Argentina?? Supposedly one of the most aggressive dogs there are. Outlawed in the USA I believe

Willa, my previous avatar, passed.
Whenever we returned home we'd find her walking around the house with some item of Marcia's clothing that she's taken from the laundry basket. It was a shoe when she couldn't get to the laundry basket.
She died of the canine equivalent of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Lou Gehrig disease, slowly from her hind quarters forward. For the past several months she couldn't climb the stairs to her bed. So I inflated an air mattress and slept on the family room floor to keep her company.
This is Tubby. He would have been 19 in a week.
We had him since a baby.
We had her cremated, like our other dogs. Our veterinarian, called and talked to Marcia, “Willa’s ready to be picked up. I know she’d like to be home.â€Condolences..It is such a hard time in one's life when a pet leaves us..The rainbow bridge has got to be a wonderful place.
So we started crying again.
Getting big!!! And very good looking.Yeah she is growing fast, she is next to her older sister, an 80# lab hound mix we rescued. She is about 6" shorter than her and gaining fast.
4 months old today. By far the most driven pup we have ever had.How about this?
I apologize again, for the life of me I can not rotate the picture. Unless we take it with the I pad it is wrong. We can’t modify them, sheesh.
Awesome, I don't know what we do wrong, if we take the pic with the I-pad it is fine, if we take it with anything else this happens and we can't rotate it?4 months old today. By far the most driven pup we have ever had.How about this?

Nice work on the training, getsum2.I thought that was the case with the energy level, he was a big bird hunter but only around the one, are they known as GSP (pointers) or GSR (retriever-I presume)?
Yes, GSRs are high energy dogs. They need a job or they'll invent one that the owner may not like. When outside they hunt constantly. They also have the highest play drive of any breed.
Watching them hunt upland game is a beautiful sight. It's as perfect as a crossing pattern touchdown.
This is Shadow (as he follows me everywhere). It would appear that is what it is thinking!
"Hey, turn off the lights! We're trying to sleep around here."

New puppy?
Speaking of NAVHDA Clyde missed a UT prize one two years in a row by one point. :)
The newest addition to the family. Eight week terrier mix puppy. Unfortune we had to put our previous dog down the day after Thanksgiving. My daughter was not taking it well at all, so we rescued Blizzard earlier this week and sooner than we expected. Cute dog, not looking forward to the upcoming months of training though...hahahaha.The setbacks will be richly rewarded. Nicely done.

...so we rescued Blizzard...
Is a Brittany Spaniel photobombing Britta?Yep, great eye. They tell me that they are buddies. Higher energy than Britta and I didn’t think was possible.
It will be another grieving moment when she sees the toys, doggie door, etc. and begins to settle into life in our house without her little girl.
A new puppy is on the way. Wife is supposed to pick her up in a week or so after she passes the 2# mark.Great news, I do have to say we have never had a puppy under 9#’s When we brought them home. Our son and future DIL also have large breeds but they bought a mini golden doodle. Might change my mind about little dogs. She is 100#’s of dynamite in a10# package. Fun as heck.
I love dogs but my wife is a cat lady. Would go for a doxy or lab. Not sure which. But---
What breed is she? We have a Havanese that looked similar when she was very young.
I know her body language very well and I can tell in an instant if she likes you or not.
Her face tells me all I need to know about Henry. I know that probably sounds goofy but it is true.
Spot on, you said perfectly what I mean.
I know her body language very well and I can tell in an instant if she likes you or not.
Her face tells me all I need to know about Henry. I know that probably sounds goofy but it is true.
Those of us who know our dogs well know exactly what you mean. Dogs communicate with body language and they can "read" you in an instant. You can't fool them. Some people believe that dogs can smell fear. They don't. They recognize fear.
what breed of dogs?
Does Ilsa enjoy going to Rick's Cafe and listening to Sam sing? ;D
She looks' like a good food vacuum dog! They are my favorite.
Maybe you all will like this one. The narration is hysterical! (Sorry about the bad language)
