Title: Do the one piece stainless steel grease trays warp?
Post by: 4given on December 18, 2020, 01:27:56 PM
My old Daniel Boone has the old steel grease tray which is warped.  I am thinking of replacing it with a new one piece stainless steel one.

Do they warp too? If they do I will save my money.

To reduce/eliminate warpage, THICKNESS is the answer, the type of metal has almost no effect..

That is not good. Sorry to hear that. I foil my grease tray so I think that helps avoid fires.

I don't doubt you are correct.   Do you know if the GMG stainless steel grease trays thick enough to resist warping at pit temps?

Possibly, but I am not so sure about that if you move from low greasy cook to a high heat cook.

Yeah, I can see that happening. I change the foil on mine on a regular basis plus I don't do too many high heat cooks so I have been fortunate.
