Were there blueberries inside mix and you also put some on top, or did they just bake to the top?

In the batter, just baked that way.

If you ever want them to stay suspended in the mix, shake them in some of the dry mix before you mix it up.  It will help hold them in the batter as it cooks.

Plan on making them for Poker night in 3 weeks, will give it a try.
