Title: ceramic ignitors
Post by: just4fn on November 05, 2021, 08:25:41 AM
Do the ceramic ignitors short out and blow GFI's like the steel one's? Have you had one quit working?  I have not had any trouble yet just wondering for future diagnoses.

Not sure I'm qualified to answer this because mine is fairly new but I've had no problems with it.  I thought my original metal one was creating problems so, I ordered a ceramic one but alas that was not the issue.  Called GMG and they told me to check the grounding wire on the motor.  That was it, so now I have a spare metal ignitor for emergencies.

Those ceramic ignitors are supposed to last for something like 1 million starts so unless there was a QC issue you should never have to worry about that ignitor in your lifetime.
