Title: BBQr's Delight Pellets for Yoder
Post by: BeachBlues on November 02, 2017, 01:55:07 PM
Yoder performs all smoker testing exclusively using BBQr's Delight pellets.  So far, that's all I've used because I ordered a half pallet with the smoker.  I've been happy with the results.  I haven't strayed from hickory, as it's my favorite.  I'll split a pallet and try some some cherry on my next go around.  Per their website, they blend the flavorwood with Oak for more consistent BTU output between wood types. The big box stores are now carrying pellets.  I might try a cherry on my next smoke, just for comparison. As of now, nothing is broke that needs fixin', and what I use seems to be in a good price range.

Fair enough.  Thanks for the rules clarification.

My understanding of BBQr's Delight is they are mostly oak as a base and not 100% of the variety of wood.  They also rebag for BandB which is sold at Walmart

Last time I bought them they were 67% Oak and 33% of the source wood!  But I think Oak is one find BBQ wood, so I have no issue with that!

I'm in Bentley's camp again. I have no issues with oak at all (other than shipping costs).

I'll look for a local source of Lumberjack pellets.  Up to now, I've been able to supplement the smoke using the A-Maze-N smoker.  It seems to work ok, and burns for over 6 hours when full.
