  • Anyone else with the idea of adding a Camp Chef Sear Box onto the right side of their Firecraft?

    It's on my to-do list.

  • Grills great, so I see no reason to spend an extra $200+ on something the unit can already do!  Or do you have the unit that does not have the grilling option?

  • I have the sear grates, with mine. And it works, but I could see where the Sear box would be handy. Don't have to take food on and off the heat or cool down the grill, depending on when you a searing. And if I have a bunch of food to sear the grates do cool down a bit and wait to heat them back up.  I have a cabelas grill for camping that I put sear grates on to help the process if I searing a bunch of steaks.

  • I think the sear box is just a really handy option.

The Firecraft can get up there for temps, but it takes some time, especially when you're in a cold climate like I am.
I do have grill grates from my gasser that fit the firecraft, so I've done that option, but I don't think the heat is a real match for that propane sear box.

The versatility of it seems cool, but not a must have.
