  • I saw this lid at my local hardware store.  It says it fits with standard 5 gallon bucket.  Has anyone bought this?  Does it work with the buckets they sell at Lowes or Home Depot?  It looks like it might be useful.

  •  I was looking at them too. The price is on the high side so I opted out..I found a good way to  almost completely eliminate the fines (dust), is by keeping the bag upright at all times... Scoop the pellets from the top of the bag and when you get  near the bottom be on the lookout for the nasties..At that point  sift the remainder, there shouldn't much to sift. ...By doing so movement of the bag and digging into the pellets will cause the fines to drop...Never pour pellets from the bag as it defeats the purpose..I am sure there will be comments on pouring..

  • First off I would say they should work fine on the Lowe's or Home Depot buckets. (I don't have one)

Then I would suggest you go look at the Kingsford® Kaddy first. Half the price and they stack also.

  • From what I read on Traeger's site, there were lots of complaints the lid was too small for most buckets and you had to slowly heat them up to expand them to fit on Lowe's, etc.

I am also a user of the Kingsford ones that are stackable.  I bought them for about $7-$8 at Target on seasonal clearance one year.  I have about 10 of them.  I dump a 40lb bag in them and then use that to pour into the pellet hoppers from there.

  • Don't leave the Kingsford caddy in the sun, it will make them brittle.   :(  Then again the sun in Phoenix can destroy most anything.

Yeah, I leave mine outside in Seattle and they're just fine :)

  • I bought the lid and the top fits with the bucket from Lowes.  However, the dust filter base will need to be modified to fit all the way to the bottom of the bucket base.  The Home Depot bucket was too big.  Traeger should really sell a complete Storage system that includes the bucket!

  •  Sounds as if it is an expensive almost developed product.
