  • What is everyone using for a regular cover?

I've been using this one for the last year and it's been solid.  The large size fits the RT-680 well.  Only issue is lack of flexibility in extreme cold temps.

Amazon has a $5 off coupon on it now.

  • I have the Rec Tec cover designed for the 680.  It has worked well for me so far.  Like you mentioned, it does become stiff in the winter cold weather, so when I take it off I keep it inside so it is pliable when putting it back on.

  • I am on my second cover.  I bought my last one from Sams Club for 25 bucks.  I don't worry so much during the winter when it stays below freezing, but keep it covered  while it's above freezing.

  • I got the rec tec cover when I bought my pit.  Made the mistake last week of putting it on in sub zero temps....put two small tears in it during that effort.  I'm tempted when I use the pit in winter to just leave it uncovered.....

  • Give the one from Amazon a try.  It's pretty heavy duty material and I don't think it can easily rip or tear.

Sure is priced right.  Where does the smoke stack go?  Through the cut out slot?

  • No it just sits slightly higher on that side.  I'll take a picture of it tomorrow.

  • Thanks for the pic.  Looks easier to get on/off than the one I have.  May have to try one.

  • The handles make it easy to remove except when it knocks the bucket off. I hate that bucket.

  • I have the same cover but different color.  Never had an issue, but I don't use anymore since I keep them in my extra garage during the winter.

  • Do you notice any condensation on the grill when removing the cover?

  • No but I think the seam in the back is starting to leak as I’ve seen water sitting on top of the pellet hopper. That was after it had ice/snow on it then melted in the sun.

  • Hmm I wonder if one of the larger sizes will accommodate the smoker box.

  • That is the large size?  Awesome!  I just got a Bullseye so my 680 will see less daily use and even though on a patio I think I want to throw a cover over it.
