I had one for 2 years and made a lot of good food on it. You have to understand that it is not just a UDS. It is smaller than a 55-gallon steel drum and that difference in size is the magic as it allows the heat to circulate evenly. Food tastes differently on it than in my old Traeger and new PG 500--and my wife likes the pellet smoker taste much better. But I got tired of the hassle of using the PBC (lighting the charcoal, emptying the ash, moving the PBC when I used it) which is why I went back to pellets. And IMO a PG-500 is perfect as it is often just me and the wife or us and a few guests. I got rid of my gasser and the PBC and use the Cookshack for everything, grilling and smoking.
