New auger motor install - Mini
« on: January 28, 2018, 08:56:39 AM »

The auger motor in my Mini pooped out three hours into a pork butt cook a couple of weekends ago when it was about 8 degrees outside. RT sent me a replacement, but no instructions of any kind. Is it a reasonably self-explanatory fix? Since the Mini shipped pre-assembled I don't have the luxury of simply "reversing" any initial assembly process. I'm not even sure if it's advisable to tip it over on its back to get access to the innards (after emptying the pit and hopper, of course).

Did you try YouTube? RecTec posts instructions on their sometimes. Otherwise I’d give them a call.

How old is your Mini?

If you can't find Rec Tec,Mini specific instructions, go to the Traeger site. They have repairs for everything Traeger..The video you require is

there, removing the hopper to access the auger motor and its replacement..Take the time to view it. This should result in a lot of time

saved.

Your unit closely resembles the Traeger in basic design.

It's not quite two years.
