  • BBQ Sauce - Heinz Memphis Sweet & Spicy

    Sauce Profile:
    1. Slightly Tangy
    2. Tomato Base
    3. Thick (will not move on a plate)
    4. Very Little Spice Kick (like a BBQ chip)

This sauce is a sweeter version of a KC Masterpiece type sauce due to the dark brown and cane sugars.  It has that thick tomato paste and molasses consistency.  There is a little bit of vinegar in it to give it the slight tangy flavor and thin the paste slightly.  It has hints of garlic, onion, smoke, etc. that you normally recognize in an off the shelf standard BBQ sauce.

I would use it for chicken fingers/tenders and on a burger.  Not sure it would work for me on pulled pork, ribs, or brisket.  It was edible enough that I will finish the small bottle, but do not see a need for me to buy it again.

  • I like KC Masterpiece and Sweet Baby Ray's for a sweet sauce and you indicate that this is sweeter than the KC Masterpiece which may be too much for me.  Again, I appreciate the information because now I won't wonder and will probably not try.  I think I might get that mustard style based on your review.

Thanks for taking the time Bar-B-Lew and leading the way on sauces.
