  • They posted a video on FB.

3 new grills. Small, medium and large. They say the 680 is discontinued but the replacement looks very similar. All the grills have stainless bodies and WiFi.

  • They say anything about Wifi for the 680?

  • It looks like the grill body itself is the same dimensions between the 680 and the 700. Both have same size cooking surface according to the description on their website. The bull is just a couple inches taller but I assume that is just the base. They show both fitting on the competition cart.

  • Interesting that they are backing off the warranty. All the new models only have 2 year warranty, the 680 had a six year.

  • He showed a different deflector plate but the sound cut out so I’m not sure what that’s about.

Also, I didn’t notice an Xtreme Smoke button on the new controller.

  • The wifi controller will be on sale for current rec tec owners for $99.  Otherwise it's $199.  Not a bad deal.  I really wish they had a clean out similar to the camp chef.  I really really like that.

  • They appear to be including shipping in the price now. Everything says free shipping.

  • It is my opinion that they missed the mark on the Trailblazer. Just from a price point. I was in the market for a mini and was going to buy one with my 680 but they discontinued it the week before. I have a Traeger JR Elite now and I just wanted to match. You can pickup a treager jr for $400 on sales, you can pick up a GMG DC for $350 on sales. I realize some might say apples and oranges because the RecTec is larger, better features, better built.. whatever. My point is that it is a price point thing on these smaller "portable" grills for me. I was ready to order a mini, I think I will be holding off on the trailblazer for now and keeping the traeger. $600 is just too much right now.

I'm a buyer at $99. I didn't see it on the website yet. Wonder when I can order.

He was saying it enables you to put extra pellets or wood chunks on top for extra smoke

They said it's going to be a little while.  They want to wait for them to come in before they put them on the website.  They said something like 4 to 8 weeks, but don't quote me on that.

  • New controller:

    200ºF to 500ºF in 5º increments
Bake, smoke, sear, grill, broil, roast, and even dehydrate

Dual meat probes (Probe A, Probe B)
    Monitor 2 cooks simultaneously

LO setting • Xtreme smoke operates under 200ºF achieving maximum smoke output

FULL setting • Allows you to achieve temperatures above 500ºF

  • Gonna be hard to dehydrate at 200°.  Probably need to be in the 150°-180° range for jerky and maybe less for other items.
