Old Cook of Pork Shoulders on XL
« on: February 17, 2018, 10:00:26 AM »

I really need to get this thing on the patio this spring and give it a good workout again.  It may be close to 4 years since it has seen any attention due to our move, repair of wheels, etc.  I wonder if I could come up with some sort of rack to maybe get another 4-6 shoulders on it.  Not sure there is enough top clearance to get 8 more on it.

Looks full to me. Anything more might have a negative effect on air circulation..

That is possible but it does have 2 fire pots and 2 fans so maybe not.  Would have to give it a try to see if it did.

If the legs are held by screws it was made in China because the American made had welded legs.

I took a old BBQ 150 and modified it. Covered the smoke exit slot on the top back and cut a hole lower for a smoke stack. That alone raised the temp 100 degrees. Also installed digital controllers and blocked off the manual start burn pots and installed stainless ones with igniter probs. Also added two extended hoppers to hold more pellets for longer cooks. I cooked 10 pork butts on it.
