Meat Probe?
« on: March 07, 2018, 01:49:44 PM »

The last two times I wanted to use the GMG meat probe it would not work.  The digital readout would flash a bunch of numbers that did not make since to the meat temperature.  I inspected the probe and wiring and everything looks OK.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you resolve it?

Mine went sideways two weeks ago.  I called GMG and they sent me a new one.

Had the one from my 2 year old GMG DB replaced early last summer just before warranty ran out, same thing, just stopped working.

I had a couple go bad in a years time and got replacements from GMG. They seemed a little more fragile than other probes.

There seems to be a trend here.. If GMG doesn't improve their probe, surely a more durable replacement can be found by matching the jack and the resistance.... Then there is the issue of cost. Would a more durable, higher cost probe be wort it?

And, what  is the warranty on replacements from GMG?

GMG's limited warranty is 2 years.
