Manual Meat Tenderizer.

(1/3) > >>

Bentley:
After just banging out 2 of the butterflied flank steaks by hand for dinner tonight, I said enough of this.  Ordered this.  Inexpensive, I really cant believe they do not make something that can attach to the Kitchenaid.  I did not realize there would be 5 of those Flanks in that package, so I was very pleased when I saw that.  So there will be many CFS. mashed potato's and corn dinners over the next few weeks.

Will do a Product Review of it when we get back from the Fresno State/Alabama game!

Sportsman SM07492 Meat Tenderizer

pmillen:
I've been told that we run the risk of pushing bacteria deep into the meat when we run solid meat through a tenderizer.  So we need to cook the interior to a safe internal temperature, like for hamburger.

Bentley:
Yeah, CFS is not a medium rare dish!  In 3 minutes it 200°!  And I guess the meat would have to have that bacteria already on its surface, or your equipment has to be dirty, and by the time I get through running equipment like this through my bleach wash, there is no live bacteria on it, of that I am sure!

Bobitis:
I'm having a hard time picturing how that works. There seems to ne minimal clearance at best from that view.
Does it feed from the top and I just can't see it? Is it adjustable like a pasta maker so you can work it down?

ok...so a video explains it all to me. Can we post youtube videos?

InThePitBBQ:
The Weston tenderizer attachment designed to mount to their base grinder machine can be modded to the square drive for use on Kitchenaid.

The Globe CC12 series has the correct drive socket to fit Kitchenaid but it's a $400.00 ish price versus about a hundred for the Weston.

I am lucky enough to get the commercial trade in stuff from a local restaurant supply distributor that doesn't work. For an example, I recently got a Globe commercial 12" slicer and a Biro Sir Steak tenderizing machine. Less than $200.00 in both those machines by the time I had them fixed and working as new.

You guys that want that stuff LMK and I'll keep an eye out for you.
