The sale was for "open box" products that come in original packaging and with the full warranty.  I have probably bought about 10 "open box" items from Thermoworks over the years with no issues.

So here is what an open box from them looks like. Everything sealed and no sign of anything used.

Got one of these for Christmas.  Monitoring a ribs and brisket cook right now.  I love it.  Very simple to set alarms and the magnet back sticks to my smoker.  Just a very well engineered product.
