It's May 13.  An excuse to cook up something special for that special person...It's also National BBQ Month.

A few years ago we started a tradition of having a Mother's Day dinner for friends whose mothers had passed.  Naturally, the attendance grew each year.  As we've aged it has come to a point where none of our friends have living parents.  But we continue.

The table grace has a sad moment (I do it on purpose) but it's usually a pretty good party.  It's grilled steaks this year.

And if any of you do cook a meal for your mom...give her a kiss for me!

I, with every ounce of me wish that was possible as I would love to give her one for me as well.

Boy to I get that. Mom passed in 1995 and I still miss her as if it was yesterday.

My mom will be in the hospital tomorrow for Mother's Day.  No special dinner planned, but we will all spend sometime visiting her instead.

Make every minute count, just thinking out loud. They are awfully special.

So very true. When mom passed it became even more painfully clear how the importance of her existence was.
