  • If Bentley is the 'cheap screw', and Kristin is the 'hammer', I'm in.

  • Yeah, when I was in practice and a partner, I was often given some of the associates who were pains and causing problems with their lip and attitude.  I later learned that my nickname was "the undertaker".  Not really sure why -- maybe you either lived to fight another day if you got your act together or I buried you. ;D

  • It is sometimes hard for us to spread the word because of some limitations, but we hope if folks are enjoying this forum they will let others know.

  • We us Pellet Cookers, and other smokers. I like forums or groups that are cooker specific.

And I like all subjects of smoking food. To me, it's not about a particular product, but more so the approach and the results.
I learn vastly more from a general board than a pit specific one.

I have a Traeger, and I'm not going to go to a MAK/GMG/Yoder/Rectec/pick one, forum to learn. I learn from all the owners here and now.

  • I have gotton a few PM's from Members thinking they may have been out of line with posting cooks not done on a pellet unit...Having gotten them, I have had to rethink...

...that original post...that philosophy may not be the one to take...I want this site to be focused on Pellets, but folks have to feel comfortable about posting ANY cooking experience!  I hope many will be about pellet cooking...but it won't always be!  And it wont for me either!

All I know to do...is ask you to look at the 1st post in this section one more time!

I think that's a good philosophy. You have to have somewhat of a narrow focus to fulfill your niche, as forums are almost 100% niche driven. However, if you have an extremely laser focus on that niche you can somewhat stunt the growth that is needed to have a healthy site. I'm glad you feel this way, but will keep in mind that it's a pellet site first and foremost.
