Your avatar -- why did you choose it?
« on: August 24, 2017, 07:32:55 AM »

I am completely computer illiterate, but I figured out how to add an avatar all by myself  -- it was a proud moment ;D

I choose the picture of a German Chocolate Cheesecake because that was the dessert I entered in the "anything but" category of a recent competition and received my first ever 180 pin.

I remember your research prior to selecting the German Chocolate Cake.

My avatar will probably change frequently.  Right now it's one of my hunting dogs after a day in the field sleeping with her head on my hand.  I chose it because I'm amazed by these dogs.
  • They're incredibly social.
  • They learn fast and learn to understand likely gamebird locations.
  • All they want to do is please their pack.
  • They know that I want them to locate gamebirds, point them out and retrieve downed birds without damaging them.
  • Granted, most of this is instinctive for them, but they are single-minded to the point where nothing distracts them from their jobs, not even a rabbit bolting from under their feet.
  • They're valuable family members.
  • So I love them.  They treat me in a way that I interpret as love, but it may just be pack behavior.
If you live with a dog you'll understand.

I like cats because they're independent. If yer alone with a dog and you die, the dog will be there with you until it also dies (given the circumstances).
A cat will gladly eat you to survive.  :o And everyone loves bacon.

Back in August, I had my German Chocolate Cheesecake pic up there.  Now that it is college football season, time for the Tide to reappear!
