Sous Vide in Original Meat Packaging?

Has anyone sous vide a brisket, ribs, or pork shoulder in the original cryovac packaging the meat came in from the store?  Does it work fine?

I haven't tried those because I like to smoke and then sous vide. However, I've done a pound of bacon in its original packaging at 145° over night and it worked fine.

I've thought about it but never have.  Most of the time I add seasoning so I have to reseal it.

Have not.  Seems to me it would work fine if you don't need to do anything to the item being cooked before hand.

I sous vide spiral sliced ham in its original cryo vac. Keeps it from drying out. Then I either serve as is or coat with a Honeybaked ham style coating and hit with a torch.

I've also sous vide fish in its original shrink wrap.

as long as the seal on the cryovac pac is good (they usually are) then you can definately sous vide in them
but I like to add seasonings and/or smoke first

I did do one of those marinaded pork tenderloins right in its packaging,  it came out pretty good (no complaints other than the quality of the meat)

I forgot about the marinaded pork tenderloins. I do those frequently also in their original packaging, to 140 F. Then do a quick pan sear.

I tried it with the individually sealed chicken brests from Costco,
had about a 50% failure on the sealed packages   :-[

When I buy chicken at Costco the packages frequently leak so I have never tried to sous vide them. They are not what I think of as cryovac, just plastic wrapped.
