That' right. This year it's Wednesday, July 17.  To be enjoyed either purchased or done @ home.

Canadian National Hot Dog Day?

IDC, I'll participate anyway.  I think I'll make Chicago Dogs.

Mmmmm, chili dogs.  Now I'm reconsidering.  They remind me of afternoons at the ball park with my dad—chili dripping off of my elbows.  When we got home, my mother would threaten to clean me with the hose.

Not as far as I know. It's American, as in USA.  I am sure the day is open for worldwide participation.

We had our free community dinner tonight and served 100 hot dogs and probably about the same number of sloppy joes. It was pure coincidence that we had hot dogs on National Hot Dog Day! It worked out well, almost 100 people tonight. Not quite as many as last month when we served brisket, but a nice turn out!!

No hot dog joints around us, so on the way to a meeting, I stopped at a Sheetz (think 7-11 with gas) and had 2 with boom boom sauce & onions and gal of lime sweet tea. $4 dinner, not bad.
