Left the maverick and igrill2 in my stick burners rib box.  Forgot I put them in there.
Guess I'm shopping for new therms.

Should have bought from Costco.

They didn't hold up the advertised temperature so you could have returned them.

Just saying!!

I've seen this too many times. Sucks that it happened to you and I understand storage issues, but there HAS to be somewhere else to stuff them.  Never got the whole keeping things in your oven either.

I bought a Fireboard,  absolutely no regrets... more or less needs wifi and Internet but it's quite nice having access to the information from anywhere.  It does do Bluetooth too, buy I'm not sure how useful it would be if thats all you had.

Actually I tested the probes on my neighbors igrill2 after removing them from the molten mess, and they still work.

I don't think any of those are advertised to have the electronic base operating above 140F

I tried storing a loaf of bread in the oven once....ONCE.  Even though everyone knew where the bread was the boss (wife) still preheated the oven to make some brownies and the whole house smelled of burnt plastic for about a week.  So now we just keep it them on the counter top.....
