Her big sister likes chasing deer, hence the leash.

  • 8 weeks yesterday. We put our yellow lab down a month ago and Sugar the black lab mix was doing nothing but moping around. I am going to try to post photos of her mom, dad and brother from a previous litter.
All black is her dad 1st. Pic , sable is her mom 2nd pic. Brother from different litter 3rd. Pic.

  • Darling puppy.  Beautiful parents.

Smell Britta's ears when she's a very young puppy.  If they ever smell any different it'll probably be because something is brewing up in there.

Yep, I am not shy about looking for gum color, clear eyes and a good ole ear sniff. No canker on her.

  • Is the vest for flotation, or just being cool?

Where we hunt it gets cold.  That day was in the 20s.  The best is neoprene.  It helps keep him warm.

Great picture and bet he/she just loves to retrieve.
He lives for it.  I wish I had a job I loved like he loves his.

    Ain't that the truth!

That's a photo worthy of framing.

I worked with people who scolded me for training bird dogs and making them hunt.  They didn't like shooting sports and never saw a gun dog work.  I would tell them that every one of my dogs, going back to my youth, hunting with my father, would rather hunt than eat.

Bob is my most dependable hunting buddy.  He has earned a few framed photos.
