Just saw this today.
CDC recommends fourth Pfizer and Moderna Covid vaccine doses for people age 50 and older.

Are folks planning on getting the fourth shot. It is probably less than 18 months since they started giving them, and now on a recommended second booster. Does anyone think there will be a fifth, sixth or even tenth shot needed in the future.

I have not gotten any of them, even after talking to my Dr. about it. I don't see him again until June I believe and will more than likely talk to him about all of the extra shots needed and get his input. As of now I am even more skeptical about their effectiveness.

Also curious if someone who had not had any of the shots, decided today to go get them would they need to get 3-4 or would the two shot dose be an updated version, eliminating the need for the 3rd or 4th?

I am not a doctor. I am only looking at it through my thought process. I am thankful that some of us had a choice in whether or not to get them. The mandate part and people losing jobs because they did not believe in them was completely wrong in my opinion and pretty much was just opening the door for more governmental control over businesses and the public.

We had our booster back in Oct 2021.  Will get the next one too.
I see no reason not to get it.

Could there be a 5th, 6th... sure. So what ?
I've been getting flu shots for decades.

I honestly can't remember the last flu shot I had. I would say 15-20 years ago.

+1, this is the way ;)

I'm not eligible for my second booster.   Yet I agree with this sentiment.   COVID as a crisis is over, we're going to need to learn to live with it.  Part of that includes a good portion of the population getting annual shots.  Just like the flu.

Ideally, at some point, they figure out how to merge flu into the covid shot so it is only one shot per year.

From my understanding Moderna is working on a combined one. It would be a covid booster, flu shot, and also it covers several things that they haven't been able to protect against previously that cause lots of upper respiratory issues.

Is that pneumonia booster solely for viral pneumonia or does it handle bacterial too?

Got me.  All I know is I got two pneumonia shots (3 months apart - PCV13 then PPSV63) about 6 years ago.
This booster (same PPSV63) is to be given 5-10 years after the other.

Was a glutton for punishment getting both at same time in same arm.  Arm is really sore.

I had the flu shot and covid booster shot in the same arm on same day in November.  Arm was sore for a few days.

Arm has always been sore anytime I've had an injection. This was double hurt.
