12v 15 gal spot sprayer
« on: March 21, 2021, 07:05:20 PM »

I am not as concerned about the spot sprayer as I am what battery you use to run it?

I am thinking about getting the HF $99 15 gal and was wondering what folks use?  Long shot I know.  My research shows that I can use something like this, but I have no idea.  I guess I figure a 12v battery always need to look like one that come out of a car!

Are you going to use the sprayer with your tractor? If so I would connect it to that and you would not need an extra battery.

I bought a 15gal sprayer from Tractor Supply, in was to go on the back of an ATV. I ratchet strapped it to one of those green wire mesh bottom garden carts.

I use one of these to run it. I just pull the cart around the yard to spray. I have used this one for a few years. Didn't have to buy anything extra as i had this and carry it with me in the van at times.

Oh and I have used this several times to run the Davey Crockett, from fire up to 5 hours or so of cooking.

If the golf cart has a 12V battery you could connect it to that.

Was hoping not to put out that much money Dave.  It will probably only come out 4-5 times a year .  That is why I am going with a cheap Harbor Freight tank.  I will be more apt to spray the lawn in the spring if I dont have to walk around with 32lbs of water on my back and end up feeling like I am having a stroke in my right arm by the time I am done pumping the backpack for 15 minutes.  Kristin will probably use it a couple of times too, and I am sure it will get a good workout in the pollinator garden because of its large tank and the fact it does not need to be pumped.

Cart is a 51v lithium-ion set up!

Gonna put it in the back bed of the golf cart.

If the golf cart has a 12V battery you could connect it to that.

Well scratch that idea. A battery like you posted will work but I would just make sure it is a deep cycle. A regular battery doesn't like being discharged and recharged so it would have a shorter life span.
