Genesis 15:9-11 So the LORD said to him, "Bring me a heifer, a goat and a ram, each three years old, along with a dove and a young pigeon." 10Abram brought all these to him, cut them in two and arranged the halves opposite each other; the birds, however, he did not cut in half. 11Then birds of prey came down on the carcasses, but Abram drove them away.

Genesis 15:17 When the sun had set and darkness had fallen, a smoking firepot with a blazing torch appeared and passed between the pieces.

Genesis 15:10 " 10Abram brought all these to him, cut them in two and arranged the halves opposite each other; the birds, however, he did not cut in half.

Genesis 15:17 When the sun had set and darkness had fallen, a smoking firepot with a blazing torch appeared and passed between the pieces.

A few observations from the text:
First, since the birds were not cut in half, it would be many centuries before "Spatchcocking" ever caught on.

Secondly, I do believe an accurate working definition of a pellet grill would be: Smoking Firepot!

Finally, that could lead one to make the assumption that the Lord and Abram may have been the origional pelletfans!
