This weekend I installed the GMG stainless steel front shelf kit to the INSIDE of my new DB choice to serve as a removable upper shelf. I did this same mod to my old DB years ago and it works great. The shelf comes out and support arms just fold in flush to the back when not in use. Easy peasey and costs under $50 on amazon.

I did the same thing on the one I had.  It was a horrible front shelf but worked very well on the inside.
