  • So, I have friend who is a recently retired welder.  He invited me to his shop (Wow) to expand a lawn mower lift so it will fit the new Husqvarna.  I have never use a wire feed with gas.  Only my flux core Harbor freight $110 110 volt machine.  Boy howdy, does gas make a difference.

Can ya tell which is his bead and which is mine?

  •  The bead on the right is perfect - by me. The one on the left is a good one for a first timer...

The ART of welding has advanced by leaps & bounds in recent decades.. It used to be gas(acetylene & oxygen) & arc/stick welders for most everything.  Heck, now there is even plastic welding.

  • A mig with gas is a game changer.  Especially when you get the wire speed right.  Don't get spoiled.  :D

  • And the one on the right is the professional!
