Taco storm watch
« on: August 19, 2023, 09:37:01 PM »

Two days spent preparing for hurricane Hilary. Sandbags and plastic are out. Loose stuff is stowed away.

Now it's taco time. I had Del Taco for breakfast and lunch. I am making the tacos for dinner.

Tacos are done. Used an heirloom tomato from our garden. They are better than store bought tomatoes which have a metallic flavor.

The heat this summer is impacting home grown tomatoes, so we are not getting a lot.

We had an incredible red sky sunset. In this instance, I don't think the red sky at night is sailor's delight.

Stay safe. I don't think you can go wrong with tacos and a fresh tomato to help get you through the storm prep. Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Be safe out there.  I have been through a lot of tropical storms which most have been easy.  But it depends on how much rain and wind you can handle.  Make sure to pick up anything that can blow around.  It may already be to late, but fill your vehicles with gas and get gas for the generator if you have one.

With the rain bearing down and more on the way, I failed to notice the magnitude 5.1 earthquake. I guess we needed to open some cracks for the water to go.

We are still recovering from the winter/spring torrents.

I definitely need to make more tacos.

I'm actually making more stuffed summer squash tonight. I would have cooked it in my smoker, but I will have to settle for the oven.
