Some folks keep their old pellet pits and add on new ones, some sell and purchase a replacement.  Either way, tell us what your next pellet pit was.  If you have purchased more than two, you will just have to select your "favorite" additional purchase.

If you feel like it, tell us why you selected your second pit and what year you purchased.

My first pit was a Traeger Jr. that I picked up on sale at a Costco roadshow.  I had my Costco rebate so it was only $80 out of pocket.  At 300 Sq" it was just a bit small.

Five months later I was looking for something a bit bigger and found the new Camp Chef Woodwind.  The Woodwind at 400 Sq" was just the step up I wanted, plus the sear box gave me high heat at a low price ( $900 shipped ).  I use it three times a week or so, making enough on it to eat the leftovers the next night.  Last night I made pasta on the stove, first meal in a long time that did not start on the Woodwind.

Off to salt some ribs to put on this afternoon.

1st was a Traeger Jr loved it but a tick too small.  Sold it to a friend.  Kinda wish I had it back at 68 lbs it was easy to transport to events and cook a couple loins on.

2nd Louisiana Lg 900 still have and still love it.

3rd Bighorn pellet grill.  It's made by Dansons for Rural King Farm stores here in the Midwest.  Bought it for $100 on Craigslist.  It's a solid entry level machine, I may do some research and at some point put an Ortech controller in it if it's just plug and play.

4th Traeger Texas Elite 34" another craigslist find it was brand new paid $140 for it had to replace the controller and the auger motor in it, and pound out a few dents.  Just got it back together last Saturday and gave it is initiation last Saturday night with a brisket and turned out great.

My wife says there in no more room on the deck with 3 smokers and a Webber gas grill, but if I could find another Traeger Jr. or tailgater, or a gmg Davy Crockett on the cheap i would pull the trigger.

FireCraft Q450 purchased on Black Friday sale in 2015. I bought it because I was tired of peeling paint and rust on my Traeger and a great deal on a stainless steel grill seemed like just the ticket.

My second pellet cooker was a GMG Davy Crockett, for use while camping.  We liked our DB so much that we had to get a portable one for our home away from home, the travel trailer.

1st pit was a Memphis Elite
2nd pit was a Memphis Pro

Liked the Elite so much I bought a Pro for high heat cooks so I don’t have to burn off the Elite before high heat cooks

My first pellet grill was an old Traeger BBQ075, then a Traeger Texas Elite. Then a Yoder YS640, then a FEC-100, Then another 2 Traeger Texas Elites, Then a Traeger Timberline. I still have the Timberline and a FEC-100. Non-pellet were 18" WSM x2, UDS, XL BGE, Bayou Classic Kamado, Assassin 24, Lang 36" and Kamado Joe Big Joe. I still have the Big Joe and a Weber gasser.

My first pellet grill was an old Traeger with 3-way controller. It still works, but without the controller :D

I found that for some of my cooks, I was running out of space, while for others, I was running the whole grill just for a little item.

So my second grill was a GMG Davy Crockett, giving me two separately controlled (or not!) surfaces when I am busy, and an easy to use "little grill" for personal use.

I didn't actually buy it for the portability, but it has gone on holiday with me twice now.
