  • Hi All,
Just looking for feedback on the Limited Edition run we did on the Red Wine Pellets.
Of you that have tried them...How did they do? How did you use them? What did you smoke/cook with them and at what temps and for how long???
    Cold smoke?
Currently we are OUT of stock as of today. Looking for feedback.
Thanks ahead for any and all responses.

  • Haven't had the chance yet Chris, but will gladly reply when the time comes.

On another note, I ordered a bag of the apple mash from Amazon and they're telling me it may be 4-6 weeks? Are you out of that blend as well?

  • Have not used them, but just curious.
What flavors would a red wine pellet impart to food?
Would the food taste like smoked red wine?

  • Hi Bobitis & BMerrill
The Apple Mash is ON amazon but because it is NEW for the fulfillment centers they post that silly 4-6 weeks! We have tons and tons of Apple Mash stock but Amazon has a little. So order and it should be more like 2 weeks max. It is just getting in the fulfillment centers now so the COMPUTER will take that down sooner or later!
As far as the Red Wine Pellets BMerill, the pellets have a distinctive flavor. a medium robust smoke with a light sweet finish. It really does well with red meats! Not that you can't do chicken or pork with it. In fact I did a turkey breast and it was awesome! It just seems to shine with red meats. The Apple Mash is kind of the same with its own flavor. Both are best between 180-350 degrees. I did a pizza and some chocolate chip cookies with the Apple Mash...both a light smoke with a distinct light finish.
    Smoke On!

  • heck with red wine, can you get some bourbon barrel beer pellets?  That would be awesome.  New Holland Dragon Milk pellets or something similar.

I was hoping for some bourbon barrel pellets as well. If it means we have to drink more bourbon to help with the supply of barrels, I will gladly take one for the team.
