Title: Chili-lime shrimp
Post by: yorkdude on July 05, 2020, 07:01:47 AM
24 raw shrimp.
1/4 very finely chopped jalapeño
1/4 cup chopped red onion
3 tablespoons fine chopped cilantro
1 garlic clove fine chopped
1 lime, zested and juiced
Juice of an orange
1/4 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp red chili flakes
Pinch of kosher salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 tsp chili powder
(I am not a fan of peppers, that’s why we VERY finely chopped them. If I see peppers, you will see my taillights, love black pepper though?)
We mixed the marinade and let it set overnight, put the shrimp in a gallon ziplock and poured over the marinade. Let it bathe for 30 minutes, it wasn’t too long but as you know, the citrus will turn it into ceviche so just don’t overdo it.
The crema had cilantro, garlic powder, black pepper and lime juice. This was very good.
Guacamole, cheese, pico and there you have it.
Fired up the grill, tossed them into the basket and gently rolled them to cook, just a few minutes.
They look like this. Enjoy.
The last pic is the beef but the shrimp picture I failed to get but you get the idea.

I am definitely going to give that shrimp recipe a run.  Ingredients sound fantastic, and the end product looks even better than that.  Thanks much.

The crema had cilantro, garlic powder, black pepper and lime juice.

Marcia says that I don't have to reinforce my reputation as a Philistine, but I'll ask anyway–

What is crema?

Yes it is but slightly runnier with a sweet taste. It’s good.

Indeed, we use it on that as well, we also use it in baked potatos.
