Adapting a Traeger WIFIRE controller to a FEC100
« on: March 15, 2018, 02:34:57 PM »

I debated whether to put this in general discussion, Cookshack or Traeger. Trager won.

I have a Timberline 1300 that got a full replacement auger/controller/hopper. I have a Cookshack FEC-100 that originally came with a digital Traeger controller (circa 2009 or 10). At one point i bought a Blaz'n pro controller and adapted it to run the FEC-100. I had it apart and it got left in the rain on accident and I'm afraid I may have killed it.

Now I am wondering whether or not I could succesfully marry the WIFIRE controller system to the FEC? It will take a bit of modification, but what I am really wondering is if the logic will work with the FEC's different configuration. I guess I could just bite the bullet and try it. Just dont want to put forth the effort for it to not work.

Any thoughts?

I really like the idea and very curious if it will work.  I was wondering if I could upgrade my Traeger Pro 22 with the Timberline controller.  Good topic!
