Title: Q450 Possible Fire Hazard
Post by: Mikro on March 06, 2019, 03:40:43 PM
[ Invalid Attachment ] Hi everyone I had to change my controller as it failed. I see others have had the same issue.
What was disturbing was once I opened the case I found a mess of pellets and leaves in my controller box. The slot between the pit and controller box DOES NOT go through to the ground. It empties into the controller box. Be Aware of this and clean it accordingly. Sorry the pictures are sideways conuterclockwise

Doesn't look good, fire wise and holding moisture (rust and corrosion) .  Where exactly is this accumulation of pellet debris?

In the controller box itself., Debris falls between the Pit and the Controller box and ends up in the controller box.. Really bad design. Since mine has been sitting for months I would attribute the moisture from that since it was not being used. This stuff sits up against the side wall of the pit at firebox level. Not good.

It looks like you are missing a piece. Mine doesn't have that issue at all. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190308/d64693cf16e1118a1fbf26c656137b81.jpg)

It should have been riveted in place. Looks like a QC issue. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190309/ae283d456b4856b6e493d15a6eec9aba.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190309/f4f3253bb1ac9aefbdc5967ab321dc52.jpg)
