I like to think we are a good cross section of America!  And I saw another poll and am curious if we are close to it.

I'd like to think that but I'm pretty sure our age is mostly 45-65 and we are 80% or more caucasian.  So we are a smaller section of the ol' American Pie!

I voted not sure at this time. I want to see how this all shakes out.
I have never gotten any vaccine other than the child hood ones and tetanus a few times if that is considered a vaccine?? I have not a clue.
My wife has to get a flu shot every year and she has for 11 years or so, in those 11 years I think we have both gotten the flu 3-4 times each?

I will take the advice of my doctor. If he says I should get the vaccine, I will.

I will take it when it is considered safe and effective. I am aware that the influenza vax is not very efficient. However, it has been shown that the incidence is less in the vaccinated, and although many people still get the flu it is less severe and mortality rate are diminished in the whole  population.  Also, the strains change so quickly that often the current vax does not match to current strain. Not a good thing,, but what else?

If the vaccine is proven effective, yes.

What does this mean?

All vaccines go through a rigorous set of trials to determine if they are safe and if they do what they are designed to do. Once the powers to be say they effective, I will surly get a shot. I guess if someone thinks that this whole thing is a hoax, they should probably pass.

OK, well it was always my understanding that a vaccine could not come on and be released in the market until it was proven that it could work and was effective.  So with your clarification, you qualifier seems redundant to me.  I wasn't sure if you were saying that you needed to wait and see how it work once released on the general population.

At my age, I don't think that I have enough time left to wait for years of population data. I'm just going to have to trust that the before market vetting is adequate.  ::)

Bump!

Apparently, the COVID vaccine caused the death of some man in France.  IDK how that premise was proven.

His life insurance company refuses to pay.

Actually, a lot of insurance policies do cover suicide.  It is just that there is normally a one or two year waiting period after the policy goes into effect.  But this reasoning is so whacko that I can only say "Well, the French do seem to like to be different."
