Just curious if they are making a difference and $10 was worth it?
Was it worth $10 to save $300?
-
Absolutely, one of the best $10.00 I have ever spent. I do truly hope that they can get it figured out though. Quite easily not for me.
-
I am not sure I would have bought it for $300 to begin with, but would have been OK winning it for $10 prior to the test. After the test, I would not have bought it for any amount of money, and was hoping my name was not selected to be the winner. I got my $10 worth out of the review.
Going forward, I think it will be item specific for me on whether I will be a participant or not. If I already own something similar, I probably would not participate. Or, if it were say a knife sharpener that I know I would never use, I probably would not participate.

I love to try out new toys, so I'm very happy to have spent $10 to realize I probably would have gotten pretty frustrated with this and either kicked it or used it once and put it in the garage to never be used again.

And that was the first raffle ticket I've purchased in my life (soon to be 67). I thought it was a good way to help get something different reviewed. If I had won, I would have given it to one of the kids.
Still worth the $10 for the gained knowledge.

I was thinking of one of them but after the review, I will not go that route, maybe the GMG attachment to use on the dust collecting Rec Tec or the RocBox which looks very interesting to me.
I buy raffle tickets all the time, usually for guns or half a beef or pig, so buying one for this was a no brainer, odds of winning are better even though it was not the reason to buy. People spend how much for consumer reports magazine, you guys are doing the same thing, just a more specific field, and your subscribers/ticket buyers are interested in the product being reviewed. It helps to make ones mind up about a purchase, the great thing is we the potential buyer actually have input on how the testing is done. for 10 or 20 bucks it is great if it helps weed out a product you may have bought and learned issues with after spending the large sum to buy it.
Thanks for doing all this and I hope it keeps going.

I said yes because I now feel it would need a better pellet delivery system in order for me to purchase. I have no desire to feed any cooker every 5 minutes or so to keep it going.

I fool around with pizzas and would love to have a quality pizza oven. I was very interested in the product review and my buying decision was absolutely influenced by it.
-
This was a fantastic idea and was executed perfectly.
As it turns out I am now happy that I didn't win what I thought I wanted but that isn't the point.
This was just one more example of what makes this site so great.
I will participate in most if not all of the review/auctions in the future.

It’ll be a cold day when I convince SWMBO to let me get that.

For me the $10 was money well spent. I had seen the Uuni a while ago and was considering buying one. Their video makes it look really easy.
You and FMT let me know I’m not up to the task!
-
Very much worth the $10, that being said I was so glad I didn’t win it.
-
That was $10 well spent. Thank you for doing the review.

$7000+...there are a lot of wealthy people out there I guess. Although Kalamazo seems to make quality equipment, and is the company that makes the one grill that I think set whole logs on fire to cook with.
I cant tell how wide it is.

Their products are truly beautiful, but probably wouldnt be my first choice even if I was spending that much. The pizza oven cook deck is 24 x 18. 30 x 30 total footprint. The best feature is dual heat control. You can control the bottom deck heat, as well as the dome heat. Very crucial element of pizza cooking. Something the uuni was severely lacking.
My wife's a builder. They have put at least one Kalamazoo grill in lake homes for a client. I just hope that people actually use them if they are buying them. It just screams of one of those products people would buy super high end, and never touch it.
-
Wow that is tiny for that kind of money. You are talking the same price as a low end, commercial 48 x 33 Bakers Pride oven!
-
Would not need one as I can bake pizza in my Pro.
But enjoyed watching you cook with it.

Considering their 28 inch 2 burner grill is 14,000, I'm not that surprised by the size or price!

I paid the $10 to support the site, the fact that I won it was an extra.
