I made this to see how many racks of ribs I could spin in my Daniel Boone. The standard Ribolator holds only 4 racks where mine holds up to 8. The problem is it can hold 8 racks of ribs, and I am never going to eat that much all at once. So I am waiting to get a vacuum sealer, and freeze the leftovers. It has been over two years since it was built, and never used, because of a lack of vacuum sealer. I wanted to show it full of ribs, but empty will have to do for now. To keep the ribs from falling out I will use 4'' Grifiti silicone bands around the trays.

that is nice.

You are one heck of a welder. Maybe you should patent the design and produce them for commercial use.

I can't take credit for the welding of the end plates or the trays. That was performed by a hydraulic shop who welded two https://www.onegrill.com/ bushings into some Stainless Steel plate they had. The trays are from Ribolator https://www.ribolator.com/. All I did was drill holes in the trays, and end plates. Polish the end plates, and bolt everything together with SS thumbscrews, and wing nuts. This also included lots of measuring. To fit in the grill I had to reverse the hinge bolts for more clearance.

A great idea put into practice..I would be interested in finding out how it preforms loaded with ribs. I am leaning towards very well.

looks great. But I wonder if the ribs stay in place? I know you have the bands. Please test and let us know

Cool idea! Go out and buy that vacuum sealer (your wife has already approved it) so you can test it out and post pics!

Ok, I went to the ribulator site and see how they do it, makes sense having the plates spin freely.
I'm very confused by the attached video though, how does the food stay in place as it rotates around?
